Battlefield Live is an outdoor infrared combat game/sport. The sport is often referred to as Laser Tag, Lazer Tag, electronic paintball. Players are split into two teams, competing within a woodland environment & various different mission scenarios some with additional objectives other than just scoring hits on your opponents. All of our games are designed to be fun and informative. Kids will definitely learn some new skills, learn how to work in a team & improve their hand to eye co-ordination without sitting in front of a computer screen, plus get plenty of exercise in the fresh air.
Some immediate comparisons from most people that are new to Battlefield Live are: Paintball & AirsoftQuazer, Megazone, Laser Planet (indoor laser centres).
Although similar to all of these games in some ways, BFL is different and most of the time better in many more ways. Here are some simple examples of what we think makes BFL better when compared to each of the above, especially when concentrating on kids parties:
Paintball & Airsoft - use paintballs or BB pellets to physically hit opponents. These are costly, messy, painful & allot of the time not very accurate over longer distances. BFL uses infrared bullets that are all inclusive in your upfront price, invisible, pain free, totally safe, totally accurate & can acheive greater distances. Additionally because infrared is that much safer, players do not have to wear vision limiting face masks or any protective clothing. Each of the diiferent types of gaming gun has different capabilities and features meaning many different playing experiences can be had & opportunities for role play style missions are endless.Indoor Laser Centre - Use similar technology, but are usually played in a small dark room or warehouse. Play is therefore limited & all the guns are the same as each other. Individual scores automatically encourage players to play as individuals - teamwork and communication go out the window. Generally the size of the
playing zone limits the types of games that can be played and the ability to work in a team effectively.
